– 1 cup pancake mix (any brand) – ¾ cup water – Vegetable oil (for frying) – Powdered sugar (for dusting) – (Optional toppings: chocolate sauce, fruit, whipped cream)

In a bowl, whisk 1 cup pancake mix with ¾ cup water until smooth. Batter should be pourable but not too thin.

Use a squeeze bottle, piping bag, or spoon to pour the batter in circular swirls into the hot oil. Fry one cake at a time.

Cook for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp. Flip gently with tongs or a slotted spoon.

Remove funnel cake, place on paper towels to drain, then dust with powdered sugar while hot. Add toppings if desired!
