For the Cupcakes: – 1 box chocolate cake mix (or homemade batter) – Eggs, oil, and water (as per box instructions) For the Frosting: – 1 tub chocolate frosting (or homemade chocolate buttercream) For Decoration: – 12 Oreo cookies (separated and halved cleanly) – 24 brown M&Ms (for eyes) – 12 orange or yellow M&Ms (for beaks) – Optional: edible candy eyes, food-safe tweezers
Ingredients
01
Prepare chocolate cupcakes using a cake mix or homemade batter. Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full and bake according to instructions. Let them cool completely.
02
Generously frost each cupcake with chocolate frosting. Create a smooth surface or swirl—this will be the owl's "face."
03
Twist apart Oreo cookies carefully so the cream stays on one side. Use the cream side only. Press a brown M&M in the center of each to form "pupils."
04
Place two Oreo halves with M&M “eyes” side by side on each cupcake, slightly angled to touch in the center—like wide owl eyes.
05
Place an orange or yellow M&M vertically just below the eyes to resemble the owl’s beak.
06
If you want ears, break two plain Oreo cookie pieces (no cream) into small triangles and insert at the top of each cupcake.
07
You’re done! These Oreo Owl Cupcakes are ready to delight. Perfect for Halloween, birthday parties, or just a whimsical dessert night.
